MASCULINITY ACTION PROJECT

Gender Justice Fund’s partnership with the Masculinity Action Project (MAP) began in 2020 when MAP was still a program of Lutheran Settlement House. The partnership started with the Socha Program, a 6-month training program focused on processing and healing from a culture of harmful masculine socialization, as well as taking action to reduce gender-based violence. As part of their commitment to taking action, each participant made a personal contribution and raised funds from their networks to support GJF grantees that had been impacted by COVID-19. They raised almost $30,000 for this effort.

Since then, each year, GJF and MAP have partnered on Masc Ally Month, an initiative designed to engage men as advocates against gender-based oppression. Click here to learn more about Masc Ally Month.
