  • Farrah Parkes, Executive Director

    Farrah Parkes currently serves as Executive Director of Gender Justice Fund. In her time there she has overseen an organizational rebranding, expanded grantmaking, and launched new initiatives focused on the trans community and the carceral system. Her almost 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector has spanned a range of issues, but gender equity has always been her personal passion. She has served on the boards of the Abortion Liberation Fund and the Valentine Foundation, as well as Bread & Roses Community Fund. Ms. Parkes holds a master's degree in public affairs from the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.

  • Edurne Irizarry, Director of Programs

    Edurne (Eddie) Irizarry has 25 years of experience working in Philadelphia’s nonprofit sector.  Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Philadelphia, she has held positions at leading organizations including the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, the Philadelphia Foundation, Youth United for Change, Congreso de Latinos Unidos and the Mazzoni Center.

    Irizarry graduated from Bodine High School in Philadelphia, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies, Long Island University, Brooklyn, NY, an MSW through the University of Pa., School of Social Policy and Practice and is a Licensed Social Worker through the The Association of Social Work Boards. Eddie currently resides in the Tioga section of North Philadelphia with her Partner, stepdaughters, their dog Riley and cats Huey and Diego.
